Miss Hong Kong 2026 | No. 10 Cecilia Chan Appears in Swimsuit, Reveals Full-Body "Whitening Hack": "I Was Born with Dark Skin"

The city's highly anticipated annual beauty pageant, Miss Hong Kong 2026, held a press conference today (August 13) in Tseung Kwan O. The organizers arranged for the 12 finalists to meet the media in swimsuits, showcasing their poise and toned figures.

Contestant No. 10, Cecilia Chan, spoke candidly with HK01 about her condition today and her preparation process. When asked what preparations she made before appearing in a swimsuit—such as exfoliating or whitening treatments—Cecilia frankly admitted to using a "whitening hack":

"Actually, I applied tone-up cream all over my body! Since returning from the outdoor shoot, I've tanned noticeably, so applying it makes me look fairer. It's quite difficult for me to whiten my skin because I was naturally born with a darker complexion. When I was young, I loved swimming, and my family never reminded me to wear sunscreen, so I've always been on the darker side. Once I get tanned, it takes a really long time to lighten up even slightly—I can't compare to contestants who are naturally fair."

Managing Weight for the Competition, Admits to "Sucking in Her Stomach"

Under the strict standards of the pageant stage, the contestants' body management naturally became a key focus. Cecilia revealed that while she did not fast, she has been controlling her diet:

"I didn't fast, but I've definitely been eating less. Yesterday, training ran very late, and I felt hungry afterward, so I had two bites of a biscuit—I might have gained a tiny bit compared to before. Visually, there isn't much difference because my body measurements have actually shrunk, though the scale went up by 0.5 kg. Maybe my hair grew longer over these past few months, which added that 0.5 kg!"

With the finals approaching, she admitted to feeling some pressure:

"I do feel a bit of pressure because this year's contestants are all tall and slender. I hope I can trim down just a bit more, as the camera always adds a few pounds compared to real life, though looking healthy is what matters most. I'm satisfied right now, but maybe I'll work a bit more on my tummy. Earlier on stage, I was definitely sucking in my stomach—I didn't want any belly fat showing!"
